Ludico's Big Time at Hurricane Ridge Dedicated to Restoring the Original Cuban Breed. Carrying on the traits of excellence at Hurricane Ridge, we are thrilled to introduce our 3rd generation of Havana Silk dogs, 'Levi.' Levi is an Isabella grandson out of Mia from Isabella's first breeding with Zion. Mia was bred carefully to a handsome and well-built stud in North Carolina by the name of Curtis 'Bydand in the Mood at Concordia' who complimented her conformation nicely. Curtis is an HSDAA Champion owned and loved by Frank & Helen Conticchio. Mia, bred by me and owned by Diane Tomasevich is an AKC Champion and currently working on her HSDAA Championship. The litter Levi came from had the theme of Big & Rich so Levi (formerly known as Big) was given the official title 'Ludico's Big Time at Hurricane Ridge.' Big Time is a song by Big & Rich. Levi's name comes from the first book of the Bible, Genesis. Levi was the 3rd child born of Jacob & Leah and he was Leah's hope of attaching Jacob to her. The name Levi means to 'join' or 'attach.' As well, Levi also represented one of the 12 tribes of Israel that did not receive the blessing of land but rather was to be dispersed throughout all of Israel. Later, the Tribe of Levi was blessed by God through Moses to be set-apart for leading the Israelites in temple worship and placed strategically in cities through all of Israel. We believe our Levi is the joining and completing of our line breeding program here at Hurricane Ridge. He scored a 98 out of 100 on his HSDAA puppy evaluation and we believe that sets him apart from all the rest. We believe he will set the bar high for how well he conforms to the HSDAA Silk Dog Standard and are looking forward to the evidence of this over the next couple of years. Levi's temperament is quiet and confident. He has a spunky attitude and is more serious than silly. He does, however, love to play and is not afraid of the 'big' dogs. He enjoys taking down Cleo daily. Cleo and Ally entertain him the most. What has really been enjoyable to us has been watching him and his grandmother Isabella play. Levi is a run-on and will be re-evaluated as our in-house stud dog when he fully matures. He is a cream Irish Pied. |
