Today I updated Teddy’s Championship on the website and Mia’s major that she took on Easter weekend. I still need photographs to display with their wins. I am so excited about these puppies. They look great out there in the ring. Eventhough the rest of the litter (Libbey & Zach) are companion dogs only, don’t forget that they can compete in other events non AKC. HSDAA has Companion competitions (Right now the closest HSDAA show coming up is in Toledo, Ohio).

Hi,
Zach received his certification from the HSDAA also. He is officially a Havana Silk Dog now. We went to a play group for Tidewater Havana Silks at Ann Carille’s house two weeks ago and we had a great time. There were about 20 dogs (including Ann’s puppies). All were blacks and whites except for Zach and one other gold sable five-month-old male puppy male Coco. Zach and Coco took to each other immediately and played together the whole day. We all wondered if it was possible that they realized how much they looked alike and that they were different from the others.
I haven’t been able to chat much lately because I have been busy with school work. But there is an end in sight (May 9) and then I look forward to catching up with everyone. I would love to see more photos of Zach’s siblings. He is changing so much and I know the others are changing also. He is a handsome dog and he has such a playful (and mischievous) personality!

See how Libbey has been growing. These are pictures submitted by Libbey’s owner Debbie. Enjoy.

Today both Isabella and Teddy received thier HSDAA certificates in the mail! Isabella is now a Registered Certified Havana Silk Dog and Teddy is a Provisional Certified Havana Silk Dog (at 2 y.o. his conformation will need to be evaluated along with all of his additional health certificates before his status goes from Provisional to Certified Registration). That means that all the other puppies will be getting these certificates in the mail as well. Mia’s will also be Provisional Certified and then Libbey and Zach’s will be Registered Companion Silk Dogs since they were sold as pets and Limited AKC Registrations. Congratulations to Isabella’s Let Freedom Ring Litter! I am so proud!!! Be watching your mail, they will be coming from Steve Harris out of Texas.

Isabella just CERF’d clear for her second year on 2/29/08- Hooray! I sent the paperwork in, but it will take a while to get the Ceritificate back and the results to show up on the OFA website. I will have to reapply for a new CHIC Certificate as well. Apparantly they have now made a category for showing your dog as a registered Havana Silk Dog (HSDAA of course) on the OFA wesite… meaning you can registar your health results to the Havana Silk Dog category, and put Havanese under the category of “other”. Hopefully if Diane Klumb contributes to this posting she can give more detalied information here. Thanks!
When are families available for a summer gathering? I would like to have a first reunion of the Let Freedom Ring Litter as well as introduce the new owners for the next litter. I’d like to do this some time in June or July. Later July should be fun as there will be a new litter on the ground then
Isabella just wants to say Hi to all her puppies: Zach, be a good boy! Libbey, keep in touch! Mia, Get points! Love, Mama Izzy
